JoAnn Maurer Wever Excellence in Nursing Education Awards
This Award for Excellence in Nursing Education in the Commonwealth of Kentucky will be presented to two outstanding academic nurse educators yearly during the annual business meeting of the Kentucky League for Nursing Education. The honor will recognize significant contributions to excellence and innovation in nursing education, contributing to the preparation of the nursing workforce in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Awardees must be active faculty members of an academic nursing program in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Awardees must be present at the Annual KNLE Meeting to receive the award and be current member of the Kentucky League for Nursing Education.

KLNE Nursing Faculty Scholarship
for Certified Nurse Educator Exam
This $500 scholarship is to be awarded annually as a one-time-only gift to qualified nurse applicants for the purpose of obtaining or renewing individual Certified Nurse Educator credentialing via the CNE exam.
Applicants must have:

Current membership in KLNE and be a participant in the Annual Meeting of the KLNE

Earned graduate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
-
Active, unrestricted Kentucky nursing license
-
Employment as faculty in a KBN approved nursing program
-
Intent to remain in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to teach in an accredited nursing program

Additional documents as noted on application form.
Recipients agree to submit evidence of CNE testing or renewal within one year of award. Failure to do so will require return of award.

KLNE Horizon Teaching Award (Teaching under 6 years)
Criteria: The minimum qualifications for the award are as follows: The applicants must have:
· current membership in the Kentucky League for Nursing Education and be a participant in the Annual Meeting of the KLNE
· an active, unrestricted Kentucky nursing license
· the intention of remaining in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to teach in an undergraduate or graduate level program of nursing
· personal statement related to teaching and learning (5 pages maximum)
· CV tailored to excellence in teaching (10 pages maximum)
· evidence that demonstrates teaching excellence (10 pages maximum) Evidence might include teaching materials, assignments, sample syllabus, peer evaluations, student evaluations, scholarship related to teaching, etc.
· completed, signed Application Form
· two letters of recommendation.
